Providing NHS Dentistry

Framwellgate Dental Surgery prides itself in providing an excellent standard of NHS treatment.

When you come to see us you will be given an initial examination appointment. During this appointment the dentist will give your teeth and mouth a thorough examination, noting any treatment required. During this appointment the dentist will discuss all the treatment options available to you including the cost.

See below for NHS charges.

Following your appointment you will be provided with a tailor made treatment plan specific to your dental needs and requirements.

What will I have to pay?

Band 1 course of treatment: £21.60

This covers an examination, diagnosis (eg X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed, and application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant. If you require urgent care, even if your urgent treatment needs more than one appointment to complete, you will only need to pay one Band 1 charge.

Band 2 course of treatment: £59.10

This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or if your dentist needs to take out one or more of your teeth.

Band 3 course of treatment: £256.50

This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures and bridges. Detailed information about each treatment band can be found in the NHS dental treatments section.

Band 4 course of treatment :£21.60

This covers emergency and problem appointments -most urgent treatments can be done in one appointment.

Once your urgent course of treatment is complete, you may be advised to make another appointment for a separate course of non-urgent treatment. In this case, the relevant NHS banding charge will apply.

NHS treatments do incur a charge unless you can produce evidence of a current NHS exemption.

If you would like a more cosmetic treatment private charges will be fully explained during your appointment
